Springbank is the oldest independent, family owned distillery in Scotland, dating to 1828, when John Mitchell first started distilling legally on the site of his father Archibald’s illicit still. Hedley Wright is the great great grandson of Archibald Mitchell representing the fifth generation. They are currently the only distillery to malt, distill, mature and bottle on site and one of the only two remaining distilleries to have stills which are directly fired. Three distinctive single malts are produced here: Springbank, Longrow and Hazelburn with Springbank representing about 80 % of the production.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Rich, creamy, vanilla, ripen fruits, almonds, buttery and honey.
• Palate: Oily, fruity, liquorice and honey with a hint of saltyon the palate.
• Finish: Sweet and chocolatey with some coconut, the finish is long and consistent with a pleasant smokey tingle.
