This characteristically punchy expression of The Beast of Dufftown has distillery character in spades and is brought to us by an old favourite independent bottler, Signatory Vintage.

Spirit distilled at Mortlach distillery in November 2008 was matured for 13 years in bourbon hogsheads, allowing the oily, meaty spirit character to shine alongside nicely developed notes of tropical fruit.

As the name suggests, this whisky was bottled, in September 2022, unchillfiltered (UCF) and without additional colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: A good helping of crushed almonds, oily barley, and honeyed sourdough, with fresh apple, and a touch of fennel salami.
• Palate: Buttery barley and set honey bring a sweet touch, with a base of hearty, earthen spice and walnut oil at the core.
• Finish: More nutty, earthen cigar box, candied ginger, a hint of olive brine, softly sweet sultanas, and woody, oaken spice.
