Ballechin 10 years old (70cl, 46%)
This is the core expression of 10 year old Ballechin single malt Scotch whisky, which is heavily peated whisky from Edradour. It has been named after the silent Ballechin distillery near the Edradour distillery.
One of my favourites of all peated whisky in sherry cask. 55PPM. You can easy find a bottle of bourbon cask with peat but rare to see a bottle of sherry cask with peat.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Oily, malty, dried raisin with BBQ smoke bacon.
- Palate: BBQ smoke bacon, chocolate, dried apple and fig with elegant peat on the palate.
- Finish: Cinnamon and nutmeg. Long and round finish.
